In a near-future United States dominated by mass surveillance, museum archivist and mother Sara Hussein is unexpectedly detained at Los Angeles International Airport. The Risk Assessment Administration has flagged her using an AI algorithm that secretly analyzes sleep data from her dream-recording wearable device, claiming her dreams predict an imminent crime against her husband. Placed in a privatized, profit-driven retention center for a promised twenty-one days, Sara faces arbitrary rules and forced labor designed to prolong her stay indefinitely. As weeks turn into months, she must navigate the psychological pressure of predictive punishment and choose whether to submit to her captors or resist her confinement.
